About
Steuben County Community Foundation
In 1992, a group of concerned
citizens created the Steuben County Community Foundation- a formalized
and organized way to make charitable gifts that will work to address
the emerging issues and concerns of Steuben County forever. To this
day, its purpose is to promote and preserve the lifestyle and assets
of our community for current and future generations. By partnering
with our donors, we have helped strengthen education, support the
arts, promote civic life, protect our environment, and ensure strong
health and social services.
To date, the SCCF holds hundreds of endowed funds, over 16 million
in assets, and has granted millions of dollars back to
the community. We are one of 94 Indiana community foundations that
together hold assets of over $1 billion, and have made grants to communities
of more than $50 million.

Free Workshops for Nonprofits
As a direct result of information gathered during focus group sessions earlier this year, the Foundation has developed a FREE Technical Assistance Program for use by both non-profits and community groups (some restrictions apply). See the schedule below:

Through a series of eight half-day sessions, participants will learn about their community and build leadership qualities such as interpersonal communication, creative problem solving, diversity, effective meetings & presentations, networking, and personal missions. Registration is limited to 20 participants.
Board Development Series- presented by the Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network is a one-half day workshop to help develop volunteer leadership in areas of policy and governance. As an extra benefit, for organizations enrolling at least three board members, the Foundation will provide 14 books on Governance and Committee responsibilities (a $182 value).
